Floors across Raleigh neighborhoods
Older homes in Oakwood, Five Points, Hayes Barton and Boylan Heights often have original hardwood that has been refinished many times. When boards are too thin or damaged to save, we replace them and blend them with the floor around them as closely as the available material allows.
In North Hills, Brier Creek and Wakefield, many homes and townhomes have engineered hardwood or LVP that’s ready to be updated. Replacing floors between tenants, before a sale or after water damage is a big part of our work in these areas.
Condos and townhomes can have HOA rules about underlayment, sound ratings and work hours. Tell us about them before the visit and we’ll choose materials and a schedule that follow the rules.
Inside the Beltline, many older houses have floors that were patched over the decades with different boards. Before adding new flooring, we check how the rooms connect so thresholds line up and the new floor doesn’t create a step between rooms.
In older homes we also look for signs of past moisture under the floor, such as cupped boards or stains near exterior doors, and we tell you what we find before you choose a product.
We agree on work hours, where materials will be stored and which rooms stay usable each day, so you always know which part of the house we’re working in.
Landlords with rentals near NC State and downtown can ask for a written scope and photos of the finished floor for their records. Whether it’s one room or the whole first floor, the free visit is the same: we measure, check the subfloor and give you a written price.
