Floor Repair in Cary, Apex & Raleigh, NC
A few bad boards don’t always mean a new floor. We replace damaged hardwood boards, laminate and vinyl planks, and stair treads, and blend the repair with the floor around it as closely as the available material allows.

Common repairs we fix
- Boards stained or cupped by a leak, a pet or a plant
- Deep scratches, gouges or dents from moving furniture
- Planks that lifted, separated or clicked apart
- Squeaks and soft spots from a loose subfloor
How we repair floors
- Text us photos of the damage and the floor around it: it speeds up the review
- At the free visit we find the cause, so the same damage doesn’t come back
- We replace only the damaged boards or planks when that’s possible
- We match species, width and color as closely as the available material allows
- Cleanup of the work area when we finish
Cleanup after the flooring work is included in every flooring service. That means we clean the area we worked in when the flooring work is done. It does not cover areas we didn’t work in. Post-construction cleaning is a separate service, with its own scope and written price. About cleanup
Repair or Replace?
The right answer depends on what caused the damage, how much of the floor is affected, what is underneath it and whether matching material is still available. We look at all four before recommending either option, and we explain the reason.
When a repair usually makes sense
- The damage is limited to a few boards or planks
- The cause, such as a leak, a pet or a plant, has been found and fixed
- The subfloor underneath is solid and dry
- Matching material is available, or you kept leftover boxes from the original install
When replacement may make more sense
- Damage is spread across a large part of the room
- The subfloor is soft, damaged or keeps getting wet
- The product is discontinued and nothing close enough can be found
- The floor is worn out overall, or you already want a different floor
Water damage: fix the source first
Leaks and moisture under the floor have to be fixed before any repair or replacement, or the damage comes back. A wet subfloor needs to dry before new flooring goes down. If there is standing water or signs of mold, a water damage specialist may need to come first.
Matching the floor you have
New boards can look different from an older floor at first: wood changes color with age and light, and finishes wear. Species, width, thickness and finish all need to match. With laminate and vinyl plank, the exact product line matters because locking systems differ between brands. We tell you honestly what to expect before any work starts.

Floor Repair: common questions
Will the repair be visible?
Our goal is a repair you have to look for. New boards can look slightly different from an older floor at first; we’ll tell you honestly what to expect before we start.
Can you repair laminate or LVP, or does it all have to be replaced?
Many click-together floors can be repaired by replacing the damaged planks, especially if you have leftover boxes. We confirm at the visit.
Do I need to find the cause of the water damage first?
Yes. We’ll point out what we see, but leaks should be fixed before the floor is repaired, or the damage will return.
